Objectives

The objective of the Escola Superior d'Arxivística i Gestió de Documents is to provide a center for training, research and consulting that is designed for students wishing to acquire knowledge in archiving, sector professionals requiring continuing education in order to confront the constant changes in the world of information, as well as companies and organizations seeking more efficiency in managing their corporate information.

For this reason, in addition to the second cycle degree of Graduat Superior , the school offers a series of services in collaboration with the Associació d'Arxivers de Catalunya which include:

• Third cycle studies (masters, postgraduate) designed to offer continued education and training that permits specialization in archival studies (electronic document management, archive and document types, marketing and cultural dynamism, document management, document conservation and preservation) and also responds to challenges stemming from the development of a knowledge-based society (preservation and verification of electronic documents, virtual archives).

• Organization of short-term training courses aimed at sector professionals wishing to improve their knowledge of the techniques under development (description, classification) or recent theoretical developments (access, preservation, user studies, quality plans). Also for students and other professionals from the world of information and communications that need to compliment their present level of training.
